I bought some Cracker Jack looking forward to the little toy inside. All I got was an invitation to consent to marketing - and NO TOY!
I am fully aware that from the moment I download this "free" software, I am consenting to ad marketing. I become a marketing asset. All I want is the free toy we used to get.
My entire box had only 3 peanuts in it. I could forgive this, but when I saw the advertisement and pulled it out, I continued to eat and dig thinking there was an actual toy under the popcorn. By the time I reached the bottom and realized what happened, I felt used and foolish.
I asked myself: Did they REALLY think I would consent to marketing when all I wanted was a toy? Then I worried that other people must be doing it, otherwise, they would stop. I can't change what others do, but I won't be that foolish and buy it again.
